If that's the case, it must have fallen dormant........ until Ron Rubin and Alan Davis spearheaded it's reawakening. I do know definitively that we wrote and approved by-laws in 78.

The alliance was in fact not founded until ca. 1978. How do I know? I was on the founding board with Ron Rubin, Alan Davis, Tom Sonneborn and others. Our first meeting was at the Summit Lodge in Killington. That meeting was spearheaded by Ron, who was at the Dept. of Ed. at the time, and by Alan, who was at Vermont Council on the Arts. I remained on the board up until the time of the first summer institute.

Tom, In 2007 I was one of the proud recipients of your prestigious teacher reconition awards. I continue to grow as a teacher and musician and have just attended a MOST worthwhile EWE Drumming Class at CCSU's Summer Institute (New Britan Conn.). I would HIGHLY recommend and request you consider Jeremy Cohen, drum teacher, as a presenter when planning your next conference. Jeremy is extremely knowledgeable and in addition has acquired the ability to teach - a rare combination. You will find his bio and course information at www.thisworldmusic.com I cannot overstate what a passionate, knowledgeable teacher he is and the VAAE would find the quality of his work to exceed the level of professionalism required. Thank you. Irene Drew, Elementary Music, Rivendell Interstate School District.
