Thrufters & Throughstones: The Music of Vermont’s First 400 Years donated by the Vermont Music Library and Shop. 5 available

Thrufters & Throughstones: The Music of Vermont’s First 400 Years is a collaboration of the Vermont Music Library program of Big Heavy World, the Vermont Historical Society, and the Vermont Folklife Center. Each has been delving into their recording and printed music archives and working with Vermont musicians to re-create the music of Vermont’s last four centuries, bringing examples from different eras together in a CD set for educators and the public.

An  original oil painting entitled Sunset on the Columbia River by Vermont painter Ann Young. This is a 6×8″  oil painting  on canvas that the artist will sign and send to you! Ann is a widely-exhibited artist who lives in the Northeast Kingdom.

Handmade Button from Art Button Works    3 available

Art Button Works is run by two artists in Northern Vermont. Each one is unique. The material used for the buttons is polymer clay with just about any method of applying color and texture the makers can come up with. They make buttons with weavers, knitters, sewers, and fashion designers in mind.

DibbleDog Notecards: Pack of six 5” x 7” cards with envelopes, blank inside for your own message. DibbleDog Cards are made by Vermont artist and cartoonist Anna Dibble, and printed by a local Vermont printer on high quality satin card stock.

Beanie for Peace Posters by David Klein   5 available
Each gift has four 12” x 16” Beanie for Peace posters, reproductions of a hand-silk screened print with the image of a blue dog named Beanie, singing to the moon. Beanie’s original name was, “The Bean,” named for her resemblance, as a curled up puppy, to a soaked soybean. Beanie is a dog who sings for peace. Until it comes her voice will never cease.

Original watercolor in permanent dye on silk, 10″x10″ approximately, each hand hemmed. From the  Earth and Water series, all have similar tones but each is  unique, an original painting.  Frame it, stitch it, incorporate it; durable and transformative.

Janet makes lots of different things out of painted metal disks. These are painted metallic red and silver and have gold filled wires. She made them during a project with Japanese artists called ON THE PLANET, where she exhibited a 36-foot wall with painted metal disks.

Katie Trautz (fiddle, vocals, guitar, banjo), and  Julia Wayne (mandolin, vocals, guitar, banjo) present an album of harmony vocals and folk instrumentals, influenced by southern appalachian old-time, new england blues, ballads, shape-note, and soul music.

Original Artist Sketches by Kathy Stark    5 available

Kathy has donated  5 of these original sketches, each of which is 5″x7″ on canvas panel. These are from the artist’s current body of work,  “Interior Landscapes”, that use ink, graphite, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic paint, glazes, tints, stains, a variety of wallpapers, decorative papers, photographs, and text.

Turning Back Beautiful, songs by Diana Winn sung by Vermont divas   5 available

Album from miss demeanor music, sister label to Re-Bop Records. A performing musician and respected songwriter for three decades, Diana Winn holds a unique place in Vermont’s music scene. This cd features a dozen of Diana’s favorite divas revealing her most personal compositions.
