Thrufters & Throughstones: The Music of Vermont’s First 400 Years donated by the Vermont Music Library and Shop. 5 available
Thrufters & Throughstones: The Music of Vermont’s First 400 Years is a collaboration of the Vermont Music Library program of Big Heavy World, the Vermont Historical Society, and the Vermont Folklife Center. Each has been delving into their recording and printed music archives and working with Vermont musicians to re-create the music of Vermont’s last four centuries, bringing examples from different eras together in a CD set for educators and the public.

Art Button Works is run by two artists in Northern Vermont. Each one is unique. The material used for the buttons is polymer clay with just about any method of applying color and texture the makers can come up with. They make buttons with weavers, knitters, sewers, and fashion designers in mind.

Each gift has four 12” x 16” Beanie for Peace posters, reproductions of a hand-silk screened print with the image of a blue dog named Beanie, singing to the moon. Beanie’s original name was, “The Bean,” named for her resemblance, as a curled up puppy, to a soaked soybean. Beanie is a dog who sings for peace. Until it comes her voice will never cease.

Janet makes lots of different things out of painted metal disks. These are painted metallic red and silver and have gold filled wires. She made them during a project with Japanese artists called ON THE PLANET, where she exhibited a 36-foot wall with painted metal disks.
